The competition is stiff. Is your manuscript in shape to stand with the best? Are your writer chops as fit as they can be? The Founders will take you through the qualifications necessary to play with the pros.
Founders Sessions are four post-Summit presentations that take place in the months after the live Summit. They are designed to keep your Summit momentum going and connect you with our Founders. All sessions are recorded and available for lifetime access. These sessions are only available as an add-on to a 2024 Summit ticket and can not be purchased separately.
Here’s what to expect:
Points for Originality with Katie Davis – October 24 at 1pm ET/10am PT
Doing what’s been done before isn’t enough. Just like a gymnast in the floor program, you’ve got to bring moves that haven’t been seen before. Katie gives us the keys to turning an ordinary idea into an extraordinary one.
A Winning Connection with Julie Hedlund – November 7 at 8pm ET/5pm PT
Being original isn’t enough. Your story must connect with a reader through multiple hooks and entry points that attract and engage. Whether it’s through a relatable character, an interesting topic, or a cultural foundation, Julie helps us find the winning combination.
Diving Below the Surface with Emma Walton Hamilton – December 5 at 1pm ET/10am PT
Synchronized swimming and picture books both look easy at first glance, but when you take a look below the surface, there is so much more going on. Emma takes us a deep dive to add emotional resonance and depth to our stories—even the humorous ones.
The Qualification Round with the PBSummit Team – January 30 at 8pm ET/5pm PT
Your manuscript may be ready, but are you? You can’t be out of shape if you’re going to compete with the pros. The PBSummit team coaches you on how to keep up with the industry and how to keep learning as your career progresses
